  • 01/11/2024: Jiuyun’s research on developing dynamic biointerfaces has been published in Nature Chemical Engineering. This study introduces a responsive hydrogel matrix, enhanced with granular particles, for applications in regenerative medicine and bioelectronics. Excellent work!   • 6/29/2022: Lingyuan Meng has defended her Ph.D. thesis. Lingyuan has been working on heterostructure-enabled T-cell interrogation and bioelectronics for subcellular studies. Congratulations!

  • 5/26/2022: Kavita Parekh has received the Norman H. Nachtrieb Memorial Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Studies of Chemistry. This is the highest research prize for an undergraduate student in the Chemistry department. Congratulations!

  • 5/26/2022: Jiuyun Shi has received the Eugene Olshansky Memorial Fellowship. This is the second time Jiuyun received this same title fellowship. Congratulations!

 

  • 5/26/2022: Aleksander Prominski received the Elizabeth R. Norton Prize for Excellence in Research in Chemistry. This is the highest research prize for a graduate student in the Chemistry department. This year, Aleks is the only recipient of this prize. Aleks also gave a research presentation to the students and faculty. Congratulations!

 

  • 5/26/2022: Our work on porosity-based heterojunction for biological modulation is published online in Nature Materials! This work was the result of a serendipitous initial observation (some surprising outcome likely due to influences from various contaminants, such as iron (III) from the tweezer or oxygen in the air) and several iterations of “hypothesis – design – test” cycles. We are grateful for Hemi’s initial observation and Aleks’ perseverance, as well as the team’s close collaboration. We also want to thank Professor Silvestro Micera for the wonderful News & Views article for our research. Thank you!

  • 12/05/2012: First-year graduate students, Zongan Wang, Yuanwen Jiang and Ruoyu Xu have officially joined our lab. Welcome!! Zongan came from USTC, and his past research was related to the computational study of beta-amyloid. Yuanwen graduated from Nanjing University, and did his undergraduate research in inorganic nanomaterials synthesis and characterization. Ruoyu graduated from Peking University and has done studies in organic electronics and related materials science. Thank you!

  • 8/26/2012: Bozhi’s postdoc research on nanoelectronics ‘innervated’ synthetic tissue is published on Nature Materials. This is a 3-year collaboration among materials scientists, engineers and medical doctors. It represents the first key step towards seamless and noninvasive integration of semiconductor electronics with tissues in 3D.
